“Thank you so much Laura for running Ava’s party. The children all enjoyed themselves immensely and it couldn’t have been easier for me! I was amazed at the variety of materials you brought with you and the girls loved the opportunity to be creative; they were utterly absorbed throughout and very proud of their creations. I would never have had the inventiveness nor patience to manage an activity even half as impressive as yours, so I am very pleased I was able to leave everything to you. The guests and their parents declared the party a great success and the birthday girl was very happy. Thank you.”

“Thank you, Laura, for teaching us about your art. It was great fun using paper and card to make amazing bookmarks to sell on enterprise day. (Yr 4) I want say a big thank you for coming to our school and spending time with us. It was my favorite part of the careers day. I liked cutting out the shapes and I want you to come back to do more and more and more art with us! (Kaja, Yr 5) I want to say a huge thank you to you for coming to our school. I really enjoyed when we made bookmarks with you. When I older I want to be an artist like you because I love to do drawing. (William, Yr 4) Thank you Mrs Ellis. Having the chance to do art with a professional was flabbergasting! You will always be remembered as the amazing art teacher. (Clara Aird, Yr 6) Thank you for the lovely art lesson that you gave us! I enjoyed finding out about a new artist and how he had become blind but he still did art.i loved how you let us do our own art work to make a bookmark. It was really fun how we were not allowed to make any outlines with a pencil and just use scissors. Thank you so much for letting us know what you do for your job. (Emily Rose, Yr 6)”

“My son Jake (9) attends the weekly Saturday morning art sessions at Fleetville - he says "the class really brings out the creativity in every child I feel eager and excited on the way to the sessions." I’ve really enjoyed that Jake comes home after each session with art work he has created. This has populated our entire home now - and we have mobiles, candle holders, t shirts, sun catchers, ceramic dishes and tiles and a bird box. We even have a fully working clock on out mantlepiece that I couldn't quite believe that they made at the class. Laura is a naturally talented artist and experienced art teacher that is passionate about brining art and kids together. She has a really relaxed way of being around children and creates a nice environment where the children feel free to create their own art within a framework that Laura defines. I’ve been so pleased that Jake has found something he enjoys doing on Saturday mornings and would recommend these classes without hesitation.”

“My son Mark really enjoyed Laura's art classes and one week came home with an amazing painting of a colourful bird which included handprints for its wings and stuck on feathers. We loved it so much that we had it framed and it now takes pride of place in our hallway so all our visitors can admire it!”

“My daughter has attended Laura's Thursday art club for three years now as she loves it so much. She comes home with lovely pieces of art that she is so proud of. I always find a place to display them. We have two super mobiles hanging in the kitchen (a fish and a bird one) that I love and just can’t take down! Keep up the good work Laura and I would love to come to your adult or adult and child classes.”

“Laura has inspired children at Skyswood Primary for several years through her after-school Art Clubs. She has a wonderful manner with the children and encourages all children to develop their own ideas and creativity, offering useful advice but always valuing their own ideas and perceptions. Laura adapts her teaching effectively to cater for a wide range of age groups and abilities. She has a fresh, engaging approach and provides the children with a wide variety of opportunities to explore a range of media and artistic techniques. Our children love attending Laura’s clubs and parental feedback has always been extremely positive.
At present we have an outstanding exhibition of wax resist pattern on display within our school hall. These were produced by infant aged children at one of Laura’s clubs and are a central feature, often commented on by visitors since the display was put up towards the end of last term. Laura has a wide range of experience, from early years children to sixth form students in her previous role as a secondary school art teacher. I would unreservedly recommend her for any potential primary or secondary school Art clubs. Laura also runs an after school club at my wife’s school (Fleetville Juniors) and I know that they are equally impressed by the quality of the children’s work. Laura is reliable, friendly, efficient and highly effective. She always leaves our classrooms in a tidy state regardless of whether she is working with clay, paint, modelling or other materials. I believe that all parents who enrol their children into Laura’s Art clubs receive exceptionally good value for money!”

“Laura is extremely creative and has fantastic ideas for things for the children to create during her art sessions. She ensures they are age appropriate so they are not too hard for the children to complete. She is extremely patient and calm during the sessions and is a wonderful teacher. The children feel confident trying out new ideas and methods under her expert guidance. Laura has a real passion for art and this can be seen through the beautiful work that she helps the children create.”
